George Dailey Park is a fully fenced neighborhood park located on Selma Road in front of Montevallo Middle School. The park features a tot lot with playground equipment, swings, and a picnic pavilion available for rental.
Namesake
The park is named for George Dailey, Montevallo’s first African American City Council member (elected 1984) and the first person of color to serve on the Shelby County Commission (elected 1990). Dailey’s contributions to the Montevallo community are honored through this park.
Events
George Dailey Park hosts the city’s annual Juneteenth Celebration, a growing event featuring performances, food, community recognitions, and children’s activities organized by the Montevallo Parks and Recreation Board.
