Montevallo Christmas Parade
A beloved night parade through downtown with lights, music, floats, tree lighting ceremony, and holiday cheer for the whole community.
The Montevallo Christmas Parade is one of the most anticipated community events of the year — a warm and joyful celebration that brings the entire town together to mark the beginning of the holiday season. Held in early December, the parade winds through the historic downtown district as darkness falls, transforming Main Street into a river of lights, music, and holiday spirit.
The Evening
The celebration begins at 5:30 PM with the Christmas Tree Lighting Ceremony — a community gathering that marks the official start of the holiday season in Montevallo. Then at 6:00 PM, the parade steps off.
The Parade Route
The parade follows a five-block route from Wadsworth Street to Shelby Street along Main Street, passing in front of the historic downtown storefronts and putting the community’s holiday spirit on full display. Lining the sidewalks with family and friends to watch the floats pass is a Montevallo tradition for locals of all ages.
