Monte Gras Ball
Mardi Gras-themed fundraiser for Montevallo Main Street with dinner, live music, king cake, and themed Krewe competitions.
The Monte Gras Ball brings a little bit of New Orleans to Montevallo each February — a Mardi Gras-themed evening fundraiser for Montevallo Main Street held at American Village’s Liberty Hall.
The Event
The Monte Gras Ball is a dinner and celebration featuring:
- Live music — dancing and entertainment throughout the evening
- King cake — the essential Mardi Gras tradition
- Krewe competitions — themed group competitions in the spirit of the season
- Dinner — a full evening event with food and festivities
Supporting Main Street
The ball serves as a fundraiser for Montevallo Main Street, supporting the organization’s work to promote and preserve downtown Montevallo’s historic commercial district. Attending the Monte Gras Ball is a way to celebrate in style while investing directly in the community.
A New Tradition Taking Hold
The inaugural Monte Gras Ball was held in 2025, drawing an enthusiastic crowd. The second annual event drew approximately 200 attendees, a strong showing that suggests this new celebration has found its audience.
